NHL Might LEGALIZE Use Of Cannabis For Players In The Future

The use of drugs and cannabis has time and time been a topic of concern in the field of sports. While the use of marijuana is still illegal in the NFL and MLB, things are seemingly changing for the NHL leagues. The hockey players from the National Hockey Leagues don’t have their career on stake if found with cannabis in their bloodstream.

It is believed that there is still a long way to go with this, but for the most part, things are looking up. The current representatives are finding ways to slowly and gradually change their perceptions on the case with the use of CBD in NHL.

While the use of cannabis has not been formally legalized, it is also not on the list of the banned substances on the list. The players who are also caught with cannabis in their system aren’t been subjected to be fined or even suspended from their games, which could have been the case if it were a few years ago.

If the players are tested positive on the test, chances are that they are only going to face serious repercussions if and only if the levels of cannabis in the system signify something close to substance abuse.

But, this leniency with the process and the substance in question doesn’t necessarily mean that the organization fully consents to the open use of the strains. The executives involved have time and time mentioned that uncontrolled and untamed consumption of the same could very well end up affecting the discourse of one’s career in the long run.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman stated saying that they are satisfied with the kind of health program that they have going around at the moment. If they feel like things need to be changed or spruced up, the same will be done accordingly but there is no pressure into it.

With the proposed leniency, even some of the players have been experimenting with cannabis, especially which of CBD because of the kind of health impacts it has on one’s well being. According to them, the same does help improve the overall recovery of the physical damage that they have been experiencing consistently.

Several of the players have expressed saying that their bodies become very charged with the consistent intake of Advil, which is a type of pain killer. If they are getting the same effects from a natural source with little to side effects, it is possibly a better option in comparison.

With the legalization of cannabis in Canada, more and more laws with marijuana have been surfacing. Whether or not NHL is finally going to make it a prospect for the finalized law is something that one does need to look forward to.

Currently though, if taken in moderation, cannabis is not something that one has to struggle or worry about. The players have the free reign, provided that they have known their limits and value their career above the feelings of euphoria or the pain relief that the herb brings along.
